“Spivak fabricates a perceived environment of uneasiness and emptiness - highlighting the nuances of lockdown: lengthening chain to 1.5m, providing five reasons to feel “free” and 264 impractical keys. At first glance the work appears cold and uninviting…slowly these premonitions transform to a place of solace - quiet and meditative - a refuge from the very control it sets out to portray.”
